For fastening all types of roofing tiles over all types of roof deck materials to any slope. Use the Twisted Wire Tyle-Tye® System as manufactured by Newport Tool & Fastener Company, Inc., Orange, California. The Twisted Wire is to be (pick one) 13 ga. (.090 dia.) Type 304 stainless steel conforming to ASTM A580, 10 ga. (.101 dia.) copper conforming to ASTM B3, or 12 ga. (.105 dia.) galvanized steel conforming to ASTM-A641-92. The Twisted Wire is anchored to the roof deck by means of (pick one) - the stainless steel wood deck anchor for stainless steel twisted wire or brass for copper Tyle-Tye® systems; or the galvanized steel Wood Deck Anchor for galvanized steel Tyle-Tye® systems. An alternative anchoring method is the double plate anchoring system encompassing two 3 diameter stamped plates of either stainless steel or galvalume using stainless steel or coated steel deck screws of appropriate length. For structural concrete decks use the double plate anchor system encompassing two 3 diameter stamped plates of either stainless steel or galvalume using a carbon steel or stainless steel expansion fastener of appropriate length. For insulated steel decks use the double plate anchor system encompassing two 3 diameter stamped plates of either stainless steel or galvalume using stainless steel or coated steel deck screw of appropriate length. The recommended anchor spacing for each row of Twisted Wire Tyle-Tye is five feet. All anchoring points shall be sealed with Tyle-Tye® Chatter Damper. Use tie wires and/or ring shank, large head (minimum 5/16") nails and Tyle-Tye® Chatter Damper (3/8" bead at the laps) for rake and ridge tiles. Rake tiles require two nails, or screws, per tile of sufficient length to penetrate the deck or rake board a minimum of 3/4". Individual roof tiles are tied into the Twisted Wire Tye-Tye® by means of a tie wire. Use 16 ga., (.0625" dia.) stainless steel tie wires (18" or 28 ") with stainless steel Tyle Tye® systems; 14 ga., (.064" dia.) copper tie wires with copper Tyle-Tye® systems (18" or 28"); 16 ga. (.0625" dia.) galvanized steel tie wires with galvanized steel Tyle-Tye® systems (18" or 31"). Use three full revolutions for each tie point. |
