For fastening most concrete roof tiles, clay "S" tiles, and/or the covers of clay Mission two-piece roofing tile, over waterproof membrane, used over a minimum 15/32" plywood deck, or 1/2" OSB.
Use the TileNail Tyle Tye® System as manufactured by Newport Tool and Fastener Company, Inc., Orange, California. The TileNails are to be of (pick one) - 12 ga. (.105"dia.) Type 304 stainless steel, or .135" dia. stainless steel, conforming to ASTM A580; or 10 ga. (.101" dia.) copper conforming to ASTM B3; or 11 ga., (.120" dia.) Galvanized steel conforming to ASTM-A641-92.

All field tiles to be "direct deck" nailed deck using the TileNail installed to each roof tile's recommended headlap and specifications. Use one TileNail for each cover portion of clay "S" roof tile, or one TileNail for each cover tile of the two-piece clay mission tile system (pan tiles shall be nailed in accordance with local building codes).

All trim tiles (rake, ridge, and/or hips) are to be attached per product standards using the TileNail and Tyle Tye® Chatter Damper tile mastic. Cut pieces in valley and/or hip areas are to fastened using Tyle Tye® Chatter Damper tile mastic.
TileNails are available with or without a wind lock nose hook. When specifying TileNails with wind lock nose hook specify 3" headlap for clay "S" tiles and concrete tiles laid with a 3" headlap. For those roof tiles requiring a 4" headlap, specify the 4" headlap TileNail.

**Additional holding capacity can be achieved with hurricane side clips for clay "S" tiles and all concrete roof tiles with a interlock channel (all field tiles, or first three courses, or minimum eave coarse), with wire, nails and/or screws with Tyle Tye® Chatter Damper adhesive at the headlaps (all field or perimeter).
