Tyle Tye® Chatter Damper Roof Tile Sealant and Adhesive
Tyle Tye® Chatter Damper is a tripolymer adhesive designed to function as a tile mastic and buffer, or pillow, between tiles to cushion the "chatter" effect of clay or concrete roof tiles, or slates, that have the tendency to chatter in the wind. Tyle Tye® Chatter Damper is used to complement Wind Lock Nose Hooks, Hurricane Side Clips and TileNail/Hurricane Spike fasteners in high wind areas and seismic zones 3 and 4. Tyle Tye® Chatter Damper has exceptional flexibility, adhesion strength, and resistance to UV, with life expectancy exceeding 50 years. Tyle Tye® Chatter Damper has been approved by ICBO as an approved roofer's mastic.

Copper, and Stainless Steel Roofing Nails
10 gauge Copper Slating Nails, and large headed Stainless Steel Roofing nails have many uses for installing clay and concrete roofing nails. The head diameter is a minimum of 5/16" diameter to prevent the roof tile from pulling through the tile hole. Ring barbed shanks provide extra pullout resistance as documented by the APA (American Plywood Association). The minimum nail per Code for nailing roofing tiles is a non-corrosive nail with a minimum head diameter of 5/16" and of sufficient length to penetrate the substrate a minimum of 3/4" or all the way through the deck material.

Non-corrosive Screws for roof tile and Tyle Tye® attachment
Factory Mutual approved roofing screws (minimum 5/16" head), with head styles that can be quickly and effortlessly driven using variable speed screw guns, are used for several roof tile fastening situations. These screws are generally used for perimeter fastenings, and where extra pullout values are required to meet design wind loads. These screws are stainless steel, or coated with special FM approved non-corrosive coatings.
